I can hear it now, “You’re being hypocritical, Miss.” And he’s right. Whenever The Mister says we’re lucky, I always interject by saying, “You mean blessed.” I’ve never been one for thinking luck actually exists. Rather, I tend to believe the good things in life are deliberately planned to happen and not somehow ironically coincidental. But in this case, a little leprechaun gold couldn’t possibly hurt to make even our closest friends feel lucky… hmmm, or is it blessed?! Blarmey! How about lucky AND blessed! Tee-hee!
This little craft was an all morning event. But we didn’t mind at all. Walking around in the sunshine collecting rocks (while hunting for lil’ leprechauns) could’ve lasted all day if we had it our way!
The perfect rock collection then got dressed in metallic gold (spray paint). Only one rock gold nugget per bag received a lucky clover (foam sticker).
Next? The leprechaun’s bag. Create a stamp (perfect for wee one’s hands) by tracing a larger shamrock (foam sticker) using an exacto-knife. Carefully cut away from the outline to expose the raised shamrock. Dry off the surface by blotting with a paper towel before painting green. Insert cardstock into the bag to prevent paint from seeping through the other side. Stamp firmly and remove. Let dry completely.
While the shamrock is drying, create the little luck note. On cardstock write all words excluding the word “lucky”. Using a fine point glue pen, write the word lucky, sprinkle with fine green glitter, and blow away the excess. Once dried, roll up the tiny note and tie with string.
Fill the bag with a generous amount of gold (don’t forget to add the lucky shamrock nugget), the tiny luck note, cinch, and tie in a bow!
