This year all he asked for was: a new car, a trip to Tahiti and permission to eat oreo blizzards for all three meals! No, but really… All he wanted was a weekend with the family without interruption. So we decided a campout at home was the way to go! And in G’s words, “…it was as fun as Christmas!”
After too many hot dogs, a beautiful sunset, and obligatory s’mores (because camping isn’t camping without them) we settled down for late night stories in the tent to say good-night. It’s so fun making memories with these people. I’ll never forget what followed my asking the boys to get their pillows, bunnies, and blankets. G came running to the tent with all three in tow, “We only need one peelow Dadda, because we’re going to hug all night.” And guess what, they did. But on two “peelows” (wink).
The next morning, just as expected, they woke up at sunrise with growling tummies! The ideal camping breakfast is one that’s fresh, filling, easy, and delicious. The new plenti yogurts by yoplait (you guys, have you tried them?) were the perfect choice — smooth greek yogurt that’s not overly sweet and packed full of hearty oats and seeds. It’s satisfying as a full meal on it’s own, or topped with fresh seasonal fruits. Even Lulu was hoping for a lick.
And with that, we all headed back to bed for a long morning nap!
Ry, it’s an understatement to say, our hearts are happy to call you ours. Happy Fathers Day, Sugar.
A special thanks to Yoplait for sponsoring this post.

Cute documentation of the campout. I have to try that yogurt, it looks dee-lish!
What a wonderful idea to celebrate feather’s day! Spot on! And it looks like the boys had a blast with their dad, such sweet memories they will have.
Love this! Can’t wait to do this with my little ones. I have a 15 month old son and I must ask, where do you do your shopping for your boys? Your boys’ outfits are always adorable!
So sweet! Love this post!
