Country Corn

July 18, 2011

Corn is one of those summer staples obsessions that never seems to get old. And getting it straight from the farmer’s crop makes it taste even yummier.

And if we’re being straight up honest… it’s also kinda begs for a pictures to be snapped.

Shenaniganin’ around in the field got the bellies growling! We raced home, whipped up some butters (scroll down, love), slathered these ladies up, and grilled ’em to sweet perfection.

Someone toss this girl some floss?

These look SO good! Is there cilantro in the cilantro lime one? You totally need to take up modeling (if you don’t already) your pictures are gorgeous!

I basically just want to be you. Fiance loves corn on the cob so I might have to try one (or all) of these out!

    • missy July 18, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Bahaha! You’re too cute! Thanks, Anna. LMK how you like your corny on the cobby. 🙂

  • Jenedy July 18, 2011 at 2:03 pm

Yep… totally trying the lime one – pretty much believe that lime makes anything taste better. 🙂 Now to find some fresh corn…

    • missy July 18, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Is it ironic that anytime I use lime I think of you? Jen & her lime is like pb with his jelly. xo

I love corn on the cob. It is my all time favorite summer treat. Usually I just put butter, salt, and pepper. So I will have to try one of these. Thanks!

    • missy July 18, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Nothing beats good ole butter w/s&p but these are really fun for corn kicked up a notch!

And you’re quite the cook at that! I think you’ll enjoy these butters. They’re really fun for entertaining as well. xo

Your necklace is seriously A.MAZE.ING! I can’t wait to sport it again with a maxi. It’s such a statement piece that can work with so many looks. Thank you!!! xo

I actually was planning on making corn tonight! Looks like I will be trying one of these butters and throwing it on the grill! Yummers! P.S. I made your Panera poppyseed salad last week and it was so good! I just got one from Panera for lunch and it was good but I actually like yours better!

    • missy July 18, 2011 at 5:02 pm

Aww, you’re so sweet. I agree with you as far as liking the salad dressing better… there’s has a funky chemical after taste. But sometimes it’s just nice to have someone else make it, ya know? Can’t wait to hear how you like your butters!

Hehe so funny my best friend and I went pumpkin patch picking last October and they had a corn field and we totally did an impromptu photoshoot ourselves. We thought we were being such dorks but we had fun – so I’m glad we’re not the only ones who do that! And the corn looks yummayyyy.

    • missy July 18, 2011 at 5:10 pm

Dork is my middle name but I’m just myself – being the goober that I am. Life is fun that way! It’s funny when we’ve got “on-lookers” during shoots. I always wonder what they’re thinking… Haha! The corn IS yummy… definitely should try it!

  • Anna July 18, 2011 at 4:58 pm

PS where’s your belt from? Love it!

    • missy July 18, 2011 at 5:10 pm

Oops! Forgot to list that. Sorry, friend. It’s GAP. It’s clearance but they might still have it!

You know, in Mexico we have a delicious recipe. You can buy it in carts off the street. It’s corn on the cob, but it’s not grilled, it’s boiled so it’s really hot. You pick one, and the vendor immediately, spreads mayonnaise, chili powder, cheese (it could be parmesan) and salt.
    Delicious!

One of my besties makes her corn this exact way! I wanted to try this one last night along with all the others but my belly was about to burst! Definitely going to have to try on the next go around!

  • Diana July 18, 2011 at 5:53 pm
