For someone whose life mission (okay maybe that’s a bit dramatic) is to keep my home a healthy one… This lil’ number doesn’t quite follow suite. But as such, I’m okay with breaking the rules every now and again.
There are so many variations of caramel corn out there. You know… the crunchy almost cracker jack kind, the sticky kind, and then there’s this.
A moment a silence before I begin to elaborate.
I first tried it at a friend’s house. My tongue had NEVER before tasted a caramel corn quite like it. Gooey (yes it never hardens), salty, buttery, and just straight up dangerously delicious. It was her family’s recipe that I’ve played with a bit to get just right.
It’s now become one of our family’s fall favorites (only eaten sparingly… ok, so maybe I just lied).
Oh goodness, this looks so good!
You’ll have to let me know what you think if you try it!
Someone’s in a totally-all-out-Halloween mode! 🙂 Fun! and this looks quite yummy. Now if I could find the time to actually do some of these projects! Have a good weekend Missy!
Haha! I’m showing you a lil’ glimpse into what’s been going on around here… there’s more to come… hopefully it’s not overload!
I’m missing the condensed milk or else I would be making this right now! It looks delicious. 🙂 Can’t wait to give this a try!
The condensed milk is what keeps it ooey-gooey! LMK what your tongue thinks of it!
Oooh – perfect! I am planning popcorn balls as thank-you gifts for my daughters first birthday next week! Do you know how many this recipe yields?
If you’re going to portion it in the cellophane bags it should give you at least a dozen. How fun!
As a taste tester I can tell you run to the store for the ingredients and make it. So yummy!!
Sorry you had to dig through the remaining kernels! That’s a dental lawsuit waiting to happen. Blame Husby for not picking them out before I mixed in the caramel. I think he might’ve been sidetracked eating the popcorn…
I was wondering who left this yummy surprise on my front porch! Thank you!
You’re so very welcome, neighbor! xo
I’ll have to try it with the salt and vanilla! But honestly – I can’t make this unless I have plans to give it away! So good – if it stays around too long we eat WAY too much of it!
I can’t thank you enough for sharing your family recipe that’s now become one of our family’s favorites. I totally agree – rule #1? Only make with intentions of giving to others.
I think I might have to make this for a Halloween get together this weekend. For a bigger party (15-20 peeps) do you think I should make a double batch?
Just want to confirm that it’s one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Thanks 🙂
you are correct 🙂
