As far as beauty is concerned, I’ve never been one to be locked and loaded (at all times) with a senseless tube of color. You know the type… The gals who re-apply after EVERY dadgum meal, when they’re nervous, or my personal favorite – in the car as they nearly take your life swerving into your lane! Sheesh. Absolutely unhealthy to go to such lengths for beauty’s sake. Just never understood it.

That is, until two years ago.

It was Halloween night. Bubba was the Tinman, Husby obviously the Scarecrow, and myself… a blonde Dorothy with ruby red shoes lips. Okay… lying! Ruby red lips AND shoes.

(On a side note, no I couldn’t simply be Glinda the good witch. Yes, I’m aware she’s not only blonde but also loves pink and sparkles. This is not the point. The point is, LuLu begged to be her. You tell me you wouldn’t cave too looking at her puppy dog face.)

So yeah.

Not only did I feel kind of glamourous painting my lips with my little pocket mirror all night; but also absolutely fell in love with my lips being the main accessory to my costume!

The rest is history. I’d become a lipstick-wearing-hussy from then on out. Incredibly exciting, you guys.

And so are these fun shades for summer (some of which are cheaper than your drive-thru lunch you’re contemplating buying today). Buy the lipstick; not the burger, babe.

A bit of advice… Lipstick wearing lips need to be flake-free. For lips that need only a slight buffering, try a dry toothbrush. But for those who need a complete renovation, try a lip scrub either the one above or a DIY homemade version. Oh and don’t forget to moisturize afterwards. Your future lipstick-wearing-lips will thank you!
