It may be blustery cold outside but we’re toasty warm picnicing in the playroom!
Awhile back, ice-cube trays were used to make THESE, remember? That same day Gage found an even better use – behold the snack sorter. I spotted him carefully sorting one cracker at a time into each cube.
My then 18 month old prodigy son got me thinking…
Instead of snacks, lets do a whole smorgasbord of yummies and call it a lunch date. Or a picnic. Or better yet, how about BOTH?
So we did.
And we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, picking through which yummy we’d eat next. (If you’re scratching your head at this point, the answer is yes. Yes, this was my lunch as well. Who says cute ice-cube lunches are just for kids?)
Not only was it a healthy meal but the large variety of flavors proved very satisfying!
Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re onto the 14 mini dessert round.
Burp!
OMG so cute! Also your little one is just adorable! Also also, I love your pictures, they are gorgeous, so clear and beautiful. What camera do I need to get, or what kinds of photoshop skills do I need or maybe I just need you! j/k ha ha Love the post though!

Thank you! xo
Gage is a real smarty pants. I was all set to give you major credit for this creativity, but clearly you’ve passed it on to the next generation as well!
Smart is a good and bad thing sometimes. But yeah, pants are definitely smarty! ha! 🙂 Thank you, Anna! xo
What a cute idea! You’ve got to do SOMETHING to keep occupied and having fun in this blustery cold weather! 🙂
Seriously. Can you say cabin fever?
Very cute idea and beautiful pictures!
Thank you so VERY much! The ticker is giggling!
Hey Missy, I have a quick question. Where do you get those adorable little striped straws, anyway? I need to get some and am hoping they’re somewhere like Target or something, rather than just online like I’ve seen. 🙂 Thanks girl!
Haven’t ever seen the straws sold in stores. You can find them all over amazon and etsy.
Wow! I love it!!! I’m totally going to do a fun picnic inside tomorrow with my boys! Thanks for the great idea.
Excited for you guys! I think it’s going to become a weekly staple around here seeing as he begs for a picnic every day now! ha! Thanks, Becca.
This is so freaking adorable! The colours, the photography, that smiling, happy face – I love it all 🙂
And I love YOU for filling me up with sweet everythings! Thank you, Serena! xo
Where’s the chocolate chips? I know he loves ’em? xoxox Sis
this is the BEST idea EVER!!
Where did you get the ABC crackers? I’d love to get my hands on some for my little boy!
We do this too, Missy! Let’s be neighbors so all of our wee little men can play and munch and be crazy cute together, kay? 😉 Love the pics of your sweet little guy. And don’t stripey straws make every drink taste so much better?
