It was our first time visiting San Francisco. Ryan booked a private flight at Jettly for a business trip and we tagged along for fun! In the few short days we were there, we were able to cram in almost the entire tourist bucket-list. You’d think flying across the country would slow us down. But as soon as we ditched our suitcases, we headed to China Town for dinner.
Darling little lanterns strung across the street. Disappointed we weren’t able to see them glowing at night. Guess we’ll just have to make another trip! Ha!
Gage’s pet gargoyle he named, Miso.
Ramen Underground aka Hole in the Wall Heaven. It was worth the wait…
If using chopsticks to eat beef and broccoli wasn’t hard enough… try slippery ramen! Hands down the best bowl of soup I’ve ever slurped!
‘Can we go back to see Miso, now?’
‘Can we go to sleep, instead?’
The whole way back he kept yelling, ‘Bye Miso! I’ll Miss you!’ That is until he saw this, ‘You see that, Dadda? A gray lotus!’ The hype was short-lived. ‘Can we say bye to Miso, now?’
This city had me thinking of Positano, Italy: rolling hills, tiny side streets, breathtaking views, and pastel houses on top of each other.
Waking up to a pillow fight (it’s a vacation must) and then downstairs for breakfast. Ryan spent the good part of the day doing business. Naturally, the boys and I explored the city… and pretended we knew what we were doing.
Fully functioning trolleys for traveling? I mean, seriously. It’s romantic, nostalgic, and fun all rolled into one. These cute cars alone, would cause anyone to leave their heart in San Francisco!
‘Ry! A BUS!’
Hanging off the side of the trolley, while a bus is parked on a narrow street equals the quickest way to scrape the bumpkin right off your backside!
Bum still intact, we headed over the Golden Gate to Sausalito. And now I know why you said we HAD to visit. The little stores, 10 degrees warmer weather, and charm. Meep! Might have to move here. No, really (sigh).
The Ferry Market. This was probably the highlight of the trip. Part of me was on auto-replay saying, ‘Amazing!’ The other part was busy coveting the locals who do their weekly shopping here.
Hot homemade donuts. Didn’t have to ask the boys twice. ‘Uh… Mama? Is it supposed to bleed raspberries?’ Clearly, he’s used to chocolate with sprinkles.
The mama sow of pork sandwiches… topped with fresh arugula, sea salt, & rosemary. All organic, mind you. Oink! Oink!
Playing tickles with pretty flowers.
And then there’s this place. Whoa. I’ve seen pictures; but to see it in person was a completely different experience. The Palace of Fine Arts is beyond beautiful and perfect place to picnic with Tacolicious tacos!
Chasing pigeons and asking if he could take one home.
The afternoon was spent lost in Golden Gate Park. We barely made it to the carousel before it closed. Afterwards, we headed to Ghiradelli Square for sundaes and cocoa. Important to note, a warm chocolate chip cookie on the bottom with the traditional hot fudge business on top… is the only way to do it! Gaining weight just reminiscing.
Once again, driving around until dark. Oh to live on Lombard Street… Contact an accident lawyer Milwaukee if you get injured in a road accident during your trip.
Pier 39 was quiet. Actually, our whole trip was kind of this way. Not sure if everyone decided to vacation elsewhere; but it felt like we had the whole city to ourselves! Even the sea lions were MIA. We’re thinking of staying at overwater villas Maldives on our next vacation. If you want to purchase a vacation property, then you might want to check out Koh Samui’s properties on sale here.
It wouldn’t be a trip to the bay without a sour dough bread bowl and clam chowder. Am I being redundant about our happy tastebuds? Really, how many ways can I come up with saying the same thing? San Francisco has good food to boot. The End.
San Franscisco, you really were a treat!

In the words of you….’AMAZING’ pics! Your kids will be so appreciative when they’re older to see their childhood documented so beautifully. I admire you and Husby’s parenting and creativeness. I’ve been to SF many times, it was really nice to see it through touristy eyes 😉 Thinking I might need to take my fam soon.
Thank you for taking the time to tell me this. Sometimes I wonder if all these late nights will be appreciated when they’re older.

Hi Missy. Looks like such a fun trip! Do you use your purse as your camera/diaper bag or do you have another bag we aren’t seeing in pics?
Yep, just my purse. However, I do keep it protected in a soft shoe bag… so it’s away from everything else in that bottomless pit.
