The 4th of July is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays — partly because of how much my littles love it! I made the mistake of telling Gage (2 weeks before) that it was coming up. Every day leading up, it was lots of questions about fireworks (if they’d be as loud as last year and how we could make sure Daddy wouldn’t get the screechers). Oh and lots of explaining how a parade works — I dare you to try describing what to expect to a 4 year old who has never been to one. More exercise for your noggin’ than a crossword, or scrabble, if you’re into that. The day was spent with my family (can you get over how adorable my little niece is?) She and Gage are quickly becoming little besties. The afternoon was filled with beach ball volleyball, 28 holes of golf for the guys, naps, barbecuing, and endless rounds of throwing ‘pop-it’s’. The forecast called for rain; but fortunately Mother Nature decided to be good to us — finishing the night with classic ice-cream sandwiches, fireworks, and my favorite … sparklers! It was a very happy birthday for the US of A!

Love these pics! I just learned to write with sparklers with my camera. I was pretty excited with how they turned out.
Love your flag shirt in these pics!
I was wondering where you had wound up on Colorado and began to suspect you’d made it to FC in your post about your date with Gage. Where did you get that ice cream, it looked delish! I hope you guys love the town as much as I have come to in the year that I have been here!
I grew up in FC; but we still haven’t settled on a home for our little family yet. Ice-cream joint is called Walrus!
What a beautiful family! 🙂
Would love some tips on how you evenly apply white/opaque nail polish without it getting streaky! Also, what color are you wearing in this post?!
Thanks!
Good question! I think it’s all in the type of polish you buy. This is Essie ‘Blanc’ and it’s a thick creamy opaque white! Two coats is all it takes!
These pictures are amazing! How beautiful! What a happy little family you have. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Hi, can you tell me where you got those adorable toddler leggings? Thank you!
B’s little harem sweats are from Zara 🙂
So cute! Where do you buy the boys their clothes? I always love how they look.
Thank you so much, Laura! I tend to shop at Target, Gap, Zara, and CottonOn for the boys 🙂
