Hi gorgeous!!!! Ok here’s my question…. I’m afraid it’ll settle into my fines lines since you said it’s got powder in it??? … aging skin isn’t fun for this ol girl!!! Also what finishing powder do you like? I don’t like to be SHINEY but I don’t wAnt a matte one that makes me look dry..:)
Here’s the deal: you will LOVE it! My mom’s friend is in her late 60’s and it doesn’t sink into creases because of the added moisture from the lotion. It’s the perfect combination of matte AND dewey. I think you’d LOVE the NARS powder. It lasts all day and isn’t drying but leaves the perfect airbrushed finish! Enjoy it!
I haven’t tried it with another moisturizer yet; but I’m sure I’ll be experimenting more! I just happened to have some cetaphil and it was what was recommended by my mom’s friend. You’ll have to let me know if you try your facial moisturizer and like it!
I’ve heard of using the chafing gel as a primer but haven’t tried it. I love all of your make up tips so guess I’ll pick some up this weekend. Can you please tell me where the red/plaid top from your birth announcement video is from? Thank you xo
Just came across your blog today …and watched your video.. Wow… Dragged my husband out with me to the store .. Got all but forgot the powder.. Ugh! So tomorrow the powder.. Really anxious to try this. Thank you for posting it!
Oh your sweet husband. Mine knows all to well! haha!

You’re too cute friend. Love this. I’ve been wanting to try that Makeup forever foundation and the beauty blender sponge! What color eye shadow do you have on at the end of video? Thanks love xo
So I bought the anti-chafing gel yesterday and tried it this morning! I used the St. Ives Collagen Lotion and it worked great!! I’m wondering if on my more oily days if you could skip the moisturizer and just use the foundation & gel? I may try it! Thanks so much for the idea!
Good to know it works with other moisturizers! And yes, by all means experiment — it’s how I stumble upon some of my favorite tips and tricks! 🙂

I love your blog!! Question – do you prefer airbrush or regular foundation? And when do you wear one vs. the other!?

Love your tutorials!!! I am now a pro at using my wand because of your 10 min curls video.
I have a question about this one though. I cannot find the chaffing cream, where did you get it from? Im a little embarrassed to ask at the store lol. Target and Walgreens did not have it.

Is there any other kind of foundation you could use? I’m on a budget sadly.

Thanks for the tip! I tried it today, but when I used the damp sponge to blend, it seemed to take a lot of the foundation off. Have you ever skipped that step?
Did you squeeze it out all the way? Maybe there was still too much water left in the sponge. Did you use a beauty blender? I find it really helps blend everything flawlessly as well as activates the chaffing gel to set into a powder finish. Hope that helps!

I just love all of your tutorials and I’m excited to try this out! I’ve wanted to try the HD foundation an am anxious to go get color matched but if you don’t mind me asking what shade/number are you?
What do you recommend for a really oily T zone but dry everywhere else. My daughter is having a really tough time with shiny oily forhead, nose , and chin. She uses bare minerals powder foundation and viel. Has tried several foundations. Needs a good cleaning regimen and make up brand for combination skin.
I’d suggest Niora daily cleanser (niora.com) coupled with apple cider vinegar used as a toner and coconut oil as a moisturizer – it should help balance out her PH. For makeup bare minerals is one of the best natural lines out there. She might also try Peter Thomas Roth’s CC cream followed by mineral veil. Hope this helps!

Hi,
I am new to make-up in the last year and have been using blogs to help me figure it all out. Here is my question. Once you get the foundation mix on what steps do you put on the other items…does it matter? Like: foundation, blush, highlighter, finishing powder, eye make-up?
Thanks!

I was wondering do I need to use the setting or finishing powder for the look to still look good?
KellyFebruary 26, 2016 at 4:26 am
Years late, I know, but this looks like a wonderful trick and I’d love to know if you use primer under? Maybe that would be instead of the setting powder but I’m always wary of powder without primer.

It’s from Nordstrom (fall 2013).
Love this tip! Question, where did you say your highlighter is from? Haven’t tried a highlighter/illuminate so I’m intrigued.
Thanks! xo
