There’s a 1st for Everything

May 9, 2011

Wow, kinda feel matronly considering this is officially my 1st Mother’s Day. But matronly doesn’t always translate into frumpy bag – it can mean confident & beautiful. Being a Mother has given me a whole new sense of self confidence. I love the way Motherhood feels on me.

So this being my 1st Mother’s Day – it was also Loverbun’s 1st to pull out the works! That included his 1st attempt to make me a spread in bed! Talk about oozing bumloads of darlingness? Husby made blueberry pancakes & bacon. The identical meal to the one I ate moments after birth {1st meal as a new Mommy}! The complete thoughtfulness…can you stand it? Makes me want to pinch his face off!

On top of that, he paid Apple to make my own Fairy Tale involving tons of pics of memories intertwined with royal items like crowns and heirs to the throne {our baby boytoy}. Husby tossed me a life raft to rescue me from my sob-fest. Tsunami tears of gratitude.

Then we got cutsie to take our official “1st Mothers Day Fam Pics” together {breaking in the new tripod – which explains Husby’s half-axe’d head}. Church was SO spritiual – bc Moms got gorgeous red roses & ginormo chocolate covered strawberries {legs turned gumby & heart exploded with giggling tee-hee’s}. Pretty sure chocolate & strawberries make me more religious. Just sayin. I spent the afternoon napping & snuggling with my babies while Loverbuns slaved his heart out over dinner. Giving him an A+ for making my 1st Mother’s Day EVERYTHING I hoped it to be!

Psst! All shallowness aside… getting serious on ya. Mother’s Day wouldn’t be complete without sharing my gratitude for my own Mother who has taught me everything I know & has transformed me into all that I am today. The one who has helped me learn that everything I have comes from God. And to look to Him first before going anywhere else. I also know that as women… we are ALL mothers. Whether we have children in this life or not. Whether we have 3 or have lost 3. I like to think that Motherhood doesn’t come when children are born. Motherhood started long before. It’s made a reality when we’re reunited with those little ones who’ve been reserved for us to cherish & love. Whether that means we raise them here on Earth or in Heaven. Our babies are ours forever. So to women everywhere 10, 20, single, barren, those who have suffered lose, or those with a boat load of babies… Happy Mothers Day!!

If you could’ve seen the kitchen! Poor kid made like 3 batches before serving me any! It was sooo cute. He said he wanted them to look presentable for me & the camera! xo

I love the pics in the bed Miss, so cute and natural. Love that. Glad Ryan came through for you. You’ve trained him up right girl! haha. And I seriously LOVE the dress. Did you get it recently? I might need one, for real. I promise not to wear it the same time as you. haha.

Also I just wanted to say that I hope I’m not one of those mom’s that gave you the idea that motherhood was frumpy or fugly. You must have gotten that idea from someone. Just hoping it wasn’t me. eeeks.

B! You’re so sweet! I was a little hesitant having my pic taken before even checking out my face/bed head. Glad they look “natural” rather than frightening! haha.

I just got the dress; but it was the last one. HOWEVER, I was at Old Navy yesterday and they’ve got a darling coral sundress that’s VERY similar for a steal! I caught myself saying, “Uh, why did I take the tags off? I like this just as much!” Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/mt10Gr

And NO friggin WAY! You are NOT one of those frumpy moms. Really? You diggin’ for compliments, B?! JK! lovies. xo
