This past winter, we started a little indoor hydro herb garden — coolest thing ever, you guys! That taste of success (literally in the form of fresh basil on pizza) has kickstarted their little green thumbs. Now that the weather is warm, they’re ready to take gardening outdoors. So, yesterday afternoon we took a trip to our favorite locally owned nursery in hunt for a few Monrovia strawberry plants. On their website I was able to quickly search for strawberry plants and see which variety was best suited for our region and climate. That way, we knew what we were hunting for BEFORE we got to the nursery. You know, to avoid the whole utterly overwhelming why-did-we-think-this-was-a-good-idea scenario: “Mama, I like this one! Can we get it? Oooh and this one too! All of these!!!!” as they pile every plant within arms reach into the wagon!! Yikes! Clenched teeth emoji! Maybe you’re not exactly sure what you’d like to grow; but you want to make sure it’ll at least survive; you enter your zip here to determine your hardiness zone. Then search for plants based on that zone! Easy! Now the hard part — trying to choose from all the beautiful options! Should your Mother’s Day weekend plans involve flowers, you can locate a garden center near you, here.

This post is in partnership with Monrovia; but we’d be selecting their plants irregardless; because they’re worth it! Happy Planting!
