Granola

January 10, 2012

Hooked! We’re homemade granola converts as of a year ago. What do I get myself into?!? Homemade dog food… now homemade granola instead of the dried boxed cereal? What’s next? But honestly, it’s fool proof to make, a fraction of the retail cost, and makes a ton (2 gallon sized ziplocks). Try it – you’ll never go back.

Made it this morning and it is SO good! And it made the house smell amazing! My hubby was laughing at me because I kept saying, “smell that, it’s delicious!” Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!

Looks delish, but I hate coconut. Can I add nuts, maybe almonds?

    • missy January 10, 2012 at 2:30 pm

Absolutely NOT! ha! Of course! Just make sure you keep the ratios the same or your wet ingredients won’t work. I’ve used almonds, pumpkin seeds, other nuts, and dried fruits in exchange for other ingredients. Almonds or pecans would be awesome with the cranberries! LMK how it turns out for you! 🙂

Looks amazing! Love that it is sweetened with honey! I have always made my own granola – no store-bought sugary stuff for me!

I’d love to hear how you make yours! Honey is definitely the way to go! I’ve learned a lot lately about health benefits involving honey… just another reason to relish each bite knowing it’s good for me too!

Yum! I love granola! I eat it almost every morning with greek yogurt and berries. I love making whole foods…it just makes me feel so much better knowing what I am putting in my body, and in turn in my little one’s body 🙂 Thanks for sharing and I hope you are feeling better!

Definitely share the same philosophy! You’re so welcome!

We love this granola recipe. I tried it when you put it on your blog and we’ve been making it for about a year too. So easy that Kevin even makes it when we run out if I don’t have time. We’ve tried others but this is our favorite!!!

Wow, I’m going to have to get Ryan behind the mixing bowls next time. BEYOND happy that it’s become a household staple. At least I’m not the only one that feels compelled to not try anything else. ha!
