I love me some infinity scarves! Um… I’m slightly obsessed with this loop’s never ending cuteness. Just like it’s name, it can be infinitely worn year round, regardless the season.
With that said, this tutorial has been on my agenda to master since the fall. Whelp! I’ve found a way to simplify and make it nearly fool proof (If you make it and mess up, I promise I won’t call you one. A fool that is).
Through trial and error the most important factor is getting a tee that doesn’t have side seams. It drastically alters the end result. The larger the tee, the thicker (more strands) and longer the length of the scarf. This specific tee is a men’s medium found at Target and is currently on sale for only $4.99! For that price you can make several in different colors and wear them layered together or separately!
LOVE IT! I made one kind of like this but I braided half of it and left the other half loose, it turned out awesome! Love the color you chose, thanx for sharing!

Oh that style sounds cute too! 🙂
You are GENIUS! I love!! Can’t wait to give it a try!! Thank you!
IDK if I’d go that far… Remember, I’m pregnant slash suffering from goldfish brain syndrome? If I can do it ANYONE can! ha! Thank you, cutie.
Wow, what an awesome DIY! I must try 🙂
Let me know how it goes! 🙂
Adorable! I need to try that!
Warning… you’ll want to shred all your Mr’s T’s. Already eyeing ones I want to shred for spring! ha!
Beautiful pictures! How do you always look cute girl? P.S. Are you going to share the baby names you’re thinking about?
Aww, thanks! I’m so happy to hear that someone finds me cute despite feeling quite the opposite most days! I’m keeping names Shhh until the big reveal of baby’s birth! Don’tcha hate when people do that? Sorry, sugar. 🙁
You look gorgeous! Love the scarf and the necklace!!! 🙂
Thanks, friend! A girl after my same fashion heart! Miss you!
Hey Lil momma.. This scarf turned out so cute.. Thanks for the inspiration! Can you tell me where your cardigan & necklace are from? Thanks~Mary
Sweater is from Shopkempt (sponsor linked on the right). But I also listed it directly last week in the “pregnancy essentials” post. The necklace is by Lucky purchased at Nordstrom. 🙂
Ran to Target and have made two! Thank you!
I can see it now… “Um backup to the Men’s department, please? We have a situation here.” Post pics!!!
Love this. I made a similar one last summer and I wear it all the time.
This is a great craft to do with young girls too (I had 2nd-5th graders) because they can handle just about every step on their own and the finished product is very ‘trendy’ looking….not your standard macaroni necklace craft.
You’re right… doesn’t hold a chance against noodles or fruit loops for that matter. Glad you like it!
You’re so crafty!
And you’re sweet! xo
I made this in under 30 minutes! I love infinity scarves and I adore my husband. I stole one of his t-shirts to make it. Now I have a piece of my husband with me when I wear this scarf. THANKS!!
That’s a tender way of thinking about it… Wrapping your husband around your neck! ha! “She’s got him totally wrapped!” One woman’s finger is another woman’s neck! LOVE IT!
Such a great idea! I love how it doubles as a scarf and jewellery – it looks like it could also be a necklace! Beautiful!
This is seriously amazing. I love how cute it is but I’m gobsmacked at how easy and inexpensive it looks to make. WOW! Awesome work x
What an awesome idea! How did you come up with this?! I can’t wait to make one of my own. Love that I just discovered your blog through a picture on pinterest!

Love this, it’s so funky and cute! Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial…I just made this with one of my husband’s pale blue t-shirts with an unyielding stain on the shoulder…now I have a fabulous new scarf and didn’t spend a cent!
It really was fool proof! I did a purple and a gray one and then added some bleach lines with a spray bottle. THanks sooo much for the tutorial. You’re the best!
So cute! What a creative idea!
Woah! Too cute and so clever! I was about to look at where you bought that! As it ends up, I have two Targets right next to me and a pair of scissors in my kitchen 🙂

I am quite possibly the least practical handy woman type around – but this looks so good I am going to give it a go. I am praying my friends here in New Zealand havn’t seen your post yet – then I will have a one of a kind around here 🙂
Has anybody washed this scarf….how did i hold up?
So cute! I’ve made two and two more waiting to be made! Obsessed much?! I found clearance tees for $3 @ my Target! Stockin’ up! Thanks for the tutorial!
SUCH a good idea! I might just have to try that! : ) Just found your blog! I am a follower!
you are too flipping cute!!!!! Love love your website 😉 I need to start one soon! Such a great release!
Just made this… LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! So easy and I am NOT crafty 🙂
Just made one of these, super easy, and you don’t even have to worry about making the cuts perfectly straight or even, still ends up looking cute!
LOVE THIS!!! Saw it on Pinterest and immediately started cutting up my husbands shirts!! Made two and can’t decide which one to wear tomorrow!!
Love this, and I’m obsessed with your beautiful curls too!! So glad I found your site! 🙂
I just did this and it was awesome!
Absolutely LOVE this!!! Ran to Target this morning, and just finished it!! What a creative idea!! Easy to make, and ridiculously cheap!! Looks great!!! Thank you!!!! Where did you find that cute white long sleeved shirt that you’re wearing?? That is a must have in the closet!!
My scarf turned out great and it was so quick & easy! Then I thought, why waste the rest of the T-shirt? I used the same technique on the sleeves to make a smaller/thinner version for summer headbands! Thanks for the great idea!
this is the afternoon craft w/ my girls at the house… yippee.. I went to target and I look on the clearence rack of Men dept and founds some of the tees and they had different colors. Cant wait to start!!!
Just made this in green. It turned out great! Can’t wait to make more!
Thanks SO much for sharing this! It is awesome!! I just made one in yellow, and I am about to make a black one and a green one. I love this idea!
I just made this with two t-shirts (tiffany blue and gray) for a friend for her birthday. SO DARLING! Thank you so much for the wonderful idea! I can’t wait to give it to her, it’s so freaking cute and easy to make!
This is beautiful, I hope mine turns out. I like the idea of braiding a few pieces too. Thanks for sharing
Made this & it was sooo fun! Then , I started rumaging through all my drawers & closet to find more t shirts!
I’m having a huge girl party in two weeks & we r going to make these, how fun. Also, I use my rotary cutter & it went so fast.
Thanks for all
your amazing posts,
Thanks for the tutorial! I made one and I live it!!! =]
Lol ***LOVE IT***
I made two of these this morning 🙂 one in grey and one in teal!
I really liked the scarf. Made one in burnt orange.
hi, I saved your picture in one of my diy folder. It’s such a great idea and looks fantastic. Also you look fantastic on the picture. I love how the scarf and the necklace looks together. I have a question: did you use cotton and what mixure t’s? I tried on one of my t-shirt and it did not come out at all. I’m not sure what went wrong in my case but I’m guessing the material. it had no elasticity what so ever.
You wanna make sure to wash them after you make these before you were them or else you have lil t-shirt stuff all over you. I found it best to put them in a lingerie bag when washing them so there is less tangling. The t-shirts work best with cotton t-shirts that have no texturing or ribbing and if doing tie-dye shirts turn them inside out before cutting and stretching.
Just came across this DIY yesterday through another blogger and made a scarf this morning. I love it! And the necklaces you paired yours with in the photos are perfection.
Hi! I have been searching for seamless t-shirts everywhere! I live in South Africa, no one has heard of a seamless t-shirt. How can I do this with a nornal t-shrit with side seams?
What fantastic style you have. I came across your scarf photo on Pinterest and immediately ran out to Michael’s, got a black tee for $3.32, and made one in under 30 minutes. I adore it! Thank you so much!
This is so easy and fun. 3.00 t-shirt from RiteAid. Its easier still if you use a Rotary Cutter. I need one in every color. Great for a travel wardrobe. Thought I might sew some tiny seed pearls here and there on the next one.
Thanks so much for this great idea and Tutorial!
I am a Fashion and Textiles Teacher in High School and had my students do this when they had some free times waiting for a sewing machine- they. love it. I want them to make me some!
Love it! I ran out to Target today and got the t-shirt, on sale too! Thanks for the great tutorial!
What a neat idea! I want to make one of these!
Thanks for the perfect directions…my brother died this past year and I made this from one of his t-shirts. It is beautiful and a wonderful way to have upcycled his shirt rather than leaving it to sit in a box.
Gonna try this with a tye-dyed shirt!
I just made may first (trial run) infinity scarf in red and I love it… I want to make one in every color. Michelle, my father just past away this past year as well and I am going to make me, my mom and sister the infinity scarfs out of some of his old shirts as well.
omg, i love this so much. thank you for sharing. had to control myself not to tear up the stairs and start cuttig all my husband’s T-shirts..so excited to try something new and something that is so fashionable. Am guessing you also could do this with blouses, sheer or not, that have no side seam, for different prints, textures. thanks, again. <3
Made a black one from a men’s medium. Anxious to wear it!
Thank you ever so much…this is the answer for all the gals on my Christmas list.
