Make your Cinco de Mayo a poco bit cuter this year. (in case you’re wondering, poco means little… somehow I remembered something from 8th grade spanish). Whether you’re inviting friends over or want to make some with the family, these little pinatas are both sweet on the inside and out. Better yet, no bat is required… which at my house means no one gets hurt.
Can’t you just see one of these at each place setting tied with the guest’s name? Meep!
1 – Cut 4 (1 inch strips) of yellow and green tissue paper. Layer on top of one another (alternating every other color). Fold a mini band and snip the bottom.
2 – Using Elmer’s glue, glue one set just below the brim of each cup. Let dry.
3 – Ruffle the fringe to create depth.
4 – Using the point of the scissors, poke a hole into the bottom of one cup. Loop ribbon and tie into a knot on the inside of the cup.
5 – Fill with candy.
6 – Hot glue both cups together as well as the rose (see tutorial below).
Super duper cute…I know a pretty little girl over here who would love that! I still don’t know where you find the time to be crafty, my friend!
I’ve got leftover supplies if you want to bust one out (literally). ha!
So cute, you have the greatest ideas. I love reading your blog and just getting inspired! Thanx for sharing!
