Green is officially “in” this season. The good thing — there’s a shade of green that compliments everyone. Look for Army green with military influences. Although we typically think of “military” as rough and tough, try mixing motifs: a feminine trench with rugged trench boots.

If you’re a fan of our lady friend, leopard — you’ll be happy to hear she’s sticking around. Yes, keep last year’s cat pieces in your closet. Just remember: Although leopard print is eye catching, don’t overdo it. A little leopard goes a long way. The easiest way to incorporate it is in your accessories — even tortoise shell can give the look of animal print without being too loud.

If you took the leather-pant plunge last fall, your risk paid off. Leather pieces (both faux and authentic) are still favorites for fall. High impact details including studs and spikes are still around too. If you’re not one for biker-babe edge, but want to take a conservative risk, look for leather in shades of green or deep red.
