Family Fun

Grow Beautifully

April 8, 2017

It’s become a tradition to go to the nursery every spring to pick out strawberry plants for our garden. After how much fun we had as a family last year, it’s something we plan on doing each and every year to come. Can you believe it? Look how little our little dolly was a year ago! Really, all of them have changed so much. Pulls at my mama heartstrings — don’t even get me started. Unfortunately, because of where we live, we were a bit too early for the potted strawberries. But that didn’t stop us from playing around the nursery, helping the super friendly staff (good thing they like kids) water the plants, and hunting for other plant varieties. After the successful crop of strawberries we had last year, I’m happy to report we’ll be choosing Monrovia again and again. In the meantime, I plan to play around in their online shop to educate myself a bit more. It’s been fun to simply put in our zip code and see what varieties will grow best where we live. There are even tips and resources for how to attract more pollinators like, bees, butterflies, and various birds to your yard! I have a keen interest in taking up beekeeping. What can I say, we love honey and we want to do our part to help the planet keep fresh food growing and thriving. Anyway, if you’re curious yourself, it’s definitely worth a look-see if you’re planning to spruce up your yard this spring. For added kicks, there’s a family video at the end of the post! Happy Weekend!

This post is sponsored by Monrovia with a genuine love for their plants.

Spring usually isn’t my fave, but I gotta admit those plants are pretty!
