How Does A Garden Grow?

May 25, 2011

It’s official. We’re on our third attempt at the whole green-thumb business. Husby made the plot with his own two hands. Hot, right? The first year we got a little too ambitious with it all. I’m talking, busting out an Excel spreadsheet to zone each quadrant for seeds. Needless to say, nothing came of it. And there’s no way the lack of produce had anything to do with us not watering. It’s seriously humid here… I thought plants were supposed to be self-sufficient in muggy air? Laziness, I tell you! Second year, we got one whopper of a cucumber and nothing more. And this year? Me and my husby decided to buy plants online and got cherry tomatoes, beans (I think that’s what they are?), and little sprigs of carrot tops! EEK! That deserves some finger snaps, friendlies.

We might not have a perfect garden just yet, but much like the landscaping services in Columbus OH, it takes patience and expertise to make things flourish. So, whether it’s for tree trimming, irrigation system installation or repair, or lawn fertilization, hiring a specialized devon landscaping company ensures the job is done correctly.

It’s so true that cultivating a garden requires patience, much like a well-planned project! As we dive into our third year, I’ve come to appreciate that every green space is a unique journey. This year, as we watch our cherry tomatoes and beans grow, I can’t help but think about how the right expertise can make all the difference. Just like those skilled landscaping services, professional gardeners bring a wealth of knowledge to the table, helping us navigate everything from soil quality to pest control.

And let’s not forget the importance of maintenance; proper care can truly transform a humble garden into a flourishing paradise! When it comes to keeping our outdoor space in check, we’ve learned the hard way that sometimes a little help goes a long way. While we’re excited about our progress, there’s still a lot to learn! For those moments when we feel overwhelmed, I’m definitely considering hiring some local experts to ensure our plants thrive. Services like those offered at https://clean4you.com.au/ are perfect for maintaining the cleanliness and health of our garden beds.

With the right support, we can focus on enjoying the fruits of our labor while knowing that our garden is in good hands. Whether it’s routine maintenance or a complete garden makeover, there’s no shame in bringing in the pros to help make our green-thumb dreams a reality!

Just as soon as we start to taste sweet success… some lil’ buggers decide to make our plants their new home! BLAST ’em! UGH-uh! I’ll be using this earth-friendly bug spray recipe (c/o Martha Stewart) to kindly say, “don’t let the backdoor hitcha on your way out!” Lil stink bugs.

This time around, we’re also planning to create Digital Business Cards to share our gardening journey and connect with fellow enthusiasts in the community. And psst! LuLu likes to help bark the weeds away. And yes, it is definitely necessary to pop the heel when watering. The plants feel your giddiness and respond quite nicely.

Haha! That’s what happens when Husby says, “Quick! Look over here!” But it wouldn’t matter anyway… bc she tries to lick the water when it comes out & ends up taking a shower at the same time. 🙂

Hahahaha… speaking from someone who has managed to kill a cactus… yes, I said a cactus.. from lack of water… Good job on the planting! It’s quite a rewarding feeling to grow things and be all earthy and natural and stuff… 🙂 Cute scarf too! I have one similar and I LOVE it. 🙂 Happy gardening!

Love this outfit! How you do manage to get dressed everyday? I can never seem to find the motivation to get dressed when I spend most of the day at home or running errands..

    • missy May 26, 2011 at 7:56 pm

Casie, you’re hilarious! I put “getting dressed” into my daily routine. 🙂

      • missy May 26, 2011 at 7:58 pm

But in all seriousness. Getting cute even when you plan to stay home/run errands affects your entire day/outlook for the better. Dress cute, feel cute, get more done, have a better disposition, better able to make your fam/others happy. Promise. It’s amazing like that.
