The higher the price tag the better the product, or so they say. I’ve always been skeptical of that theory. When it comes to the beauty department, I’m more of a full spectrum kind of girl — no shame in dousing my face in a two dollar bottle of raw apple cider vinegar from the ‘ole pantry. I can vouch that sometimes budget buys can outperform the most luxurious products. But that’s not to say I haven’t also been known to occasionally splurge for something that’s worth the higher ka-chings.
La Prairie, a Swiss luxury beauty brand, is one I was unfamiliar with; that is, until I was invited to put Cellular Radiance Perfecting Fluide Pure Gold, to the test. Case and point, the fact that it contains REAL gold as one of the main ingredients and claims of its wide range of superior beauty benefits peeked my curiosity. I figured with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this posh product might be of interest to some of you.
So what’s inside the bottle that makes it so golden? La Prairie’s advanced gold-science platform – an exclusive combination of pure gold, golden reflecting agents and an exclusive golden lotus blend made with Lotus Japonicus, an extraordinary flower revered in Asia, where it is considered to be a plant of renowned beauty. In addition, this cream also contains a unique anti-aging golden peptide that boosts collagen growth and helps improve skin quality below the surface, where radiance begins, for smoother-looking skin that reflects light at its best. Can you see why I was intrigued?
I’ve been using the product for about a week (both morning and night) VERY sparingly. I’m talking a pea-sized amount pumped onto my pointer finger before dotting my forehead, cheeks, and chin. From there, it is distributed evenly over my entire face. I read reviews HERE (of a similar product) saying that if rubbed between hands (to warm) before application, the majority of the product is absorbed by the hands — a big uh-oh (clenched teeth emoji). I have to say, even after the very first application, I experienced immediate results: my pores appeared smaller, a visual glow was evident, the texture of my skin looked smooth and felt softer, and my overall skintone became noticeably more even. With such instant results, I didn’t need to use foundation or BB cream; just a little concealer under my eyes, some blush, and I felt good to go! Would I purchase the product for myself? That’s an honest question. Personally, I’ve yet to spend that kind of money on a face cream. But then again, La Prairie Cellular Radiance Perfecting Fluide Pure Gold does do what it claims to do… at least initially. Does it really change skin on a cellular level? If so, it’s arguably worth it’s weight in gold! Time will tell. But for now, I’m enjoying the golden glow that La Prairie magically delivers — even if it is just this one time bottle’s worth!
Welcome to the La Prairie family! Once you try, you never go back! Better start putting the funds aside because this is AMAZING AMAZING stuff!
I tried a sample at Nordstrom but it was the caviar line. All of the girls in my family are now loyal fans! Can’t wait to hear if you end up loving it as much as we all do!
You weren’t kidding on the price! I respect you for your honesty and for telling us that you’re on the fence. I’m interested to try it, just wish it came in a smaller trial size with a lower price. Maybe one day.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, please tell me you’ll be posting a gift guide again this year? Always love the stuff you choose for your wishlist!
Sure will! Happy to hear you enjoy them!
I know others have asked recently, but will you do an updated skincare regimen? I feel like everything you recommend it balanced both in effectiveness and benefits! Thank you!
Would be happy to, Rachel! xo
If you have any interest at all in trying out any Rodan and Fields skin care products I would love to send you some! Just let me know if you’re interested and you can have your choice 🙂
$500 for one bottle of skincare cream. Seriously? I’ll remember this when I’m a millionaire, right now I’ve got my kids college education to think about. Lol.
OMG I think I might have to try this!!!
Check out my blog sometime hon 😀
