Interrupting the typical work day is our kind of jam. Especially when it means meeting up with Ry at one of his favorite diners in the city, Sams No. 3. The boys especially enjoyed all the coins involved — parking meters and post-lunch gumball machines. The massive plate of stuffed chile rellenos, topped with fried eggs is clearly what makes this place one of his staples. As for me, I’m kicking myself for not snapping a pic with the sweetest shoe-shiner who stopped our family on the street, “Sister, you done gone snuck up to heaven and stole you another angel, didn’t you?” I couldn’t wipe the grin from my face. Yes, little family lunch dates need to happen more often.

      He was one of the happiest souls I’ve ever met! I told Ryan to go get his shoes done weekly and make friends with him.
