Lil’ Mister is going through a “race” phase (a’hem… racing matchbox cars or my personal favorite, especially at the end of a long day, racing his chubby legs in circles all around the house).
So you can imagine, when he got his hands on a bag of marbles… his 2 year old instincts said, Race!
His idea of race meant a war scene of marble grenades flying all over my kitchen (unfortunately, our poor innocent bystander LuLu happened to be his victim).
Craziness, you guys.
Putting Husby and I’s noodles noggins together, we mustered up a plan to contain the chaos. A little competitive game of marble racing.
Kinda fun, actually. And a whole lot less hazardous…
How To:
1 – Using a serrated or exacto knife, slice down one side of a pool noodle.
2 – Spread the noodle open with your hands.
3 – Cut through the other side (being careful as not to cut all the way through), just enough so that the noodle lays flat. If you happen to cut all the way through in some parts (as we accidentally did), use hot glue to adhere back together.
4 – Place a toothpick start and finish sign to both ends of the noodle.
5 – Race one marble in each lane at the same time.
6 – Whichever marble reaches the finish first is the winner!
Cute Idea! He looks so intense watching the marbles race, I can tell he takes it very seriously ;-)!
SUCH a cute and creative idea. Definitely trying this out with my little mister.
