One Year

How did this happen? A whole year gone by. Really?! (sigh)

A year ago today, I convinced Dad to take us out to satisfy a craving for Croque Madame (fancy name for an egg on toast with ham, cheese, and a side of fruit). After putting at the green and lots of kisses for your big brother, we were off to the hospital!

I was slightly apprehensive about my capacity to love two, when I only knew how to be a mother to one.

Only minutes old, your hand wrapped around my pointer finger, I fell in love all over again. But not in the way I was used to. A completely new kind of love – an extraordinary love all your own.

You were so tiny.

Roasty-toasty warm with the cutest button nose.

Absolutely perfect.

Still are. And always will be.

We love you to the moon and beyond, little guy!

    Nothing warms my heart more than Mother’s reflecting on the first years of their baby’s lives. Happy Birthday! On a personal note, my 3 year old little guy had the same exact same fine/blonde hair and ohhhh…how I miss that little bald head…so warm and soft. 🙂

    Happy Birthday to your lil’ man. I love what you wrote — I know exactly how you felt — that crazy apprehension — wondering how you could possibly have room in your heart for two…? I felt the same when I had my 2nd. It’s crazy how somehow, your heart just grows that much larger to make room! I can’t imagine my life without my two, and I’m sure you can’t either!

    I really enjoy your blog! Your boys are so precious! Maybe you could post links to some of their clothes like you do for your adorable outfits? I just had my own little boy in December, and I’m always on the lookout for cute baby boy clothes 🙂
