Around here the Strawberries are fresh for the picking. We’re so fortunate to live just down the road from a local farm that’s open to the public for picking your own pint of strawberries. Gage couldn’t decide what he enjoyed more… eating the strawberries or playing with the bunnies and chickens. Kinda makes me wish we lived on a farm.
Oh and you might have noticed the strawberry shortcake recipe is almost identical to the other berry treat you all loved so much… Have to say, the strawberry rendition is just as yummy!
yummy! what lens do you use? especially in the close up of the strawberry shortcake?
It’s a 35mm.
That looks delicious!
It tastes better than it looks, seriously.
Looks wonderful, as do you and the little one. We love strawberry picking but with our weird weather in CT these days I don’t know if it’s warm enough.
Where are you that it’s so lovely out the past few weeks in all you pics?
It’s the best, isn’t it? We make it a weekly routine to go. There’s something about farm fresh strawberries that puts the ones in the stores to shame. Solid red all the way through…
Looks delicious! I wish I lived on a farm and YOU look gorgeous! 🙂
And YOU are beyond kind. Thank you!
How fun for your little guy! And the strawberry shortcake looks incredible!
Pretty sure the guys at your house would approve. 😉
picture perfect as always! We recently went to the strawberry fields and it’s the perfect activity for toddlers! Gage looks so cute in his pink tee 🙂
The problem becomes eating more than picking… haha!
YUM! My summer favorite!
Then you’ll definitely LOVE this one. Let me know if you end up trying it. xo
Ok. So Miss, you’re probably going to laugh when you read this, but I decided to make these this morning, but wanted to make them a bit “healthier”. I know, a red flag should be waving about right now. So I used home-milled wheat, instead of white flour, and I used “Half and half” instead of straight up “whipping cream”. yeah. So note to all those out there, just enjoy these for what they are and don’t try to change them because mine didn’t rise nearly as high as these beauties and tasted more like a dense dog biscuit than a “shortcake”. However, with enough strawberries and whipped cream on top, they still made a decent breakfast. 🙂
