It’s around this time each year, that I play the same little guessing game with Autumn. I ask her if this is the week she will be the most beautiful. If she has finally decided to show all of her vibrant colors. And then graciously, she drops subtle yet gratifying clues to let me know she’s playing along: migrating geese that honk overhead, cornfields dressed in gold, cold mornings that call for slippers, leaves that gather in gutters and converse in the streets, and pleasantly warm afternoons made for collecting her treasures, with my dear ones. She’s full of sweet surprises. And I love that about her. She teaches us to be generous, to make life something beautiful, and to be thankful for all of it. Big and small. Autumn, you really are beautiful in more ways than one! Oh and for the record, my guess is you’re holding out for at least a few more weeks!
Adorable fashionistas – both of you!
Genius idea to use your scarf as a vest! I’ve never seen that before and it’s so cute! Am I right in thinking all you did was open up the loop put your arms through, similar to that of a coat?
Exactly! I was just messing around and stumbled upon styling it this way! Luck, I guess!
I’ve been eyeing that floppy hat ever since you posted it in your Nordstrom anniversary wish list! Seeing it on, I have to have it!
I was hesitant to stray away from my typical baseball cap; but I must say I’ve worn this thing non-stop! Perfect for yucky weather or bad hair days or to dress up a casual outfit!
What a thoughtful perspective on autumn being a generous season. I’ve never thought of that before! New gifts to behold each day! Thanksgiving also carries new meaning being during the fall too. Thank you.
You’re welcome! A new perspective I came to this year. Glad it translated for you as well!
Love this look! As always you put it together effortlessly in ways I would never think to do! Do you do personal styling by chance?
Haha! You’re too kind! Yes, I have experience in personal styling. Let me know if you’re interested – I’ve styled clients ‘virtually’ as well!
It was such a delight to bump into you in person! The same in real life just as I’ve seen you here for years!
Happy to meet you as well, April! xo
I do the same thing trying to guess when the season is going to peak and then decline into cold cold winter. NE is brutal!
You guys look so cute! Would you be up for doing a skin care post, your skin is so beautiful and glowy?!
I’ve done a few skincare posts in the past; but funny you should ask because I’ve been using some new skincare tools! I’d be happy to share soon!
Can you pleeaase consider a photograph tutorial. I would love to know what your fave camera is and how you blur your backgrounds. 🙂
That’s a great idea Misty, a photography tutorial would be amazing!
Thanks, ladies! It’s tricky to try to do in a post; but perhaps a video tutorial or something? A live class would be optimal so I can demonstrate/answer questions!
In love with that scarf and the Babe!! Would you let us know the name brand because I’m assuming it’s sold out since you didn’t post the exact link.thanks and Autumn can stay for as long as she wants!!
I bought it at Nordstrom last year, I believe (BP dept).
LOVE your style ………Fall is my favorite here in Colorado!!!!!! The leaves are gorgeous!!!! Living in California we NEVER had seasons……… in the fall maybe cooler air at night……it’s very humid there now…….I love wearing boots, scarves and sweaters……… enjoy the season!!!! xxx ooo

Happy to be back! xo
Love the way u did that scarf do u have a pic of the back so we can see how looks from back and how u have situated ?
Thanks
Love ur blog
Basically if it’s an infinity scarf (or you can tie a regular scarf at both ends) put one end behind your neck and the other at the small of your back. Both sides should be resting on top of your chest.
I too would love to see how you tied your scarf like that. You and baby look so beautiful!! Your eye make up is amazing. Maybe another how to video on how to make blue eyes pop ???
It’s an infinity scarf (full size) draped over and under my arms to create a ‘vest’. haha! Eyeshadow colors to make eyes POP is a great idea!
Love this post!
xo
Ughhh your outfits are just Fall perfection! Absolutely love how you did the scarf and now I really want to finally buy a hat like that! Baby girl looks soo comfy in those adorable leg warmers. What are you guys all going to be for Halloween???
You’re too sweet! Thanks, Bayleigh! Halloween costumes will be coming to a post near you!! xo
